HYPOTENUSE

Hypotenuse is an initiative of two photographers: Massao Mascaro and Fabien Silvestre Suzor.
The aim of Hypotenuse is to develop a unique insight into a contemporary artist’s oeuvre.
From the perspective of an oeuvre, Hypotenuse proposes a meeting along two axes; on one hand, the spatial disposition of reflective material that supports the oeuvre (here we want to reconstruct the research laboratory of the artist); on the other hand, an open conversation with the invited artist.
Hypotenuse was presented for its first edition in the FOMU during “braakland” in 2017.
The artist invited to dialogue was Federico Clavarino about his book “the castle”.
An edition of 300 free posters was published for the occasion in collaboration with the French graphic designer Louis Garrido.
This poster worked as a key to read the work of Hypotenus on the artist’s work and as an archive of the event for the public to keep.
